OG Kush is one of the great classics of Californian cannabis culture and a genetic that played a decisive role in shaping the rise of modern US strains. The feminised strain is based on a cross of Lemon Thai and Chemdawg and combines 75% Indica with 25% Sativa. Today, this traditional US classic is part of the range of the Silent Seeds seed bank.
Despite its clear Indica dominance, OG Kush develops relatively slender plants with greater spacing between the internodes. Its vigorous development can be controlled well with various cultivation techniques. In addition to Sea of Green (SOG) and Screen of Green (SCROG), the strain is also suitable for FIM, Supercropping and Lollipopping. OG Kush can be cultivated both indoors and outdoors.
The intense aroma of OG Kush is particularly characteristic. Powerful petrol and gas notes combine with fresh lemon and lime to create a distinctive flavour profile that is closely associated with the classic Californian OG character. Oily nuances add further depth to the aroma and round off the unmistakable character of this legendary genetic.

Silent Seeds is based in Rotterdam in Holland. The people behind it are the same ones who were part of Dinafem for years. They know what they are doing since they have been around since 2005. The team came back in 2021 under the name Silent Seeds. It feels like a continuation, not a restart. They focus on both feminized and autoflowering seeds. Some of the work is done together with Sherbinski, which is why you see a few new strains that feel closer to the American style.

They still keep names like Moby Dick, OG Kush, White Widow, and LA Vanilla Cake alive. At the same time, there are newer mixes. Some growers like the tradition, others chase the fresh genetics. Both are there. The oldschool strains still have a loyal following because people know exactly what to expect from them. Meanwhile, breeders continue experimenting with flavors, effects, and stronger terpene profiles. In many clubs and shops, you can see both worlds side by side. That mix of classic and modern genetics is part of what makes the scene so interesting today.
