The smell is very delicious, reminiscent of a mixture of classic hashish, aromas of tea and coffee, rounded off with nutty, spicy, and earthy tones. About a third of the plants grow taller with narrower leaves and appear more wild, while the rest are bushier and more Indica. 

Tirah Maidan originates from the remote Tirah Valley in Pakistan's Khyber District near the Afghan border. The region has been known for centuries for small-scale cannabis cultivation and the traditional production of dry-sift hashish. Pashtun tribes, especially the Afridi, brought the plant to the region about 600 years ago and selectively bred it for high production. As a result, Tirah developed into one of Pakistan's most important traditional hash regions.
