Lemon Tree 2.0 – Silent Seeds

Lemon Tree 2.0 by Silent Seeds was created through a collaboration with the Californian Lemon Tree Collective and is conceived as a modern evolution of the well-known Original Lemon Tree. The starting point for the joint project was the contact between Silent Seeds and Matthew Rockwell in Santa Cruz in 2019. Lemon Tree 2.0 focuses on the characteristic Lemon Tree style, which has been further developed in a new feminized genetics.

During cultivation, Lemon Tree 2.0 shows a vigorous, relatively open plant structure with numerous lateral branches. The internodes are spaced slightly further apart, allowing light and air to reach the inner areas effectively. Medium-sized leaves with moderately broad leaflets are reminiscent of the strain’s Lemon Skunk background. Depending on the phenotype, various characteristics of the original Lemon Tree may also become clearly apparent.

Thanks to its pronounced lateral branching, Lemon Tree 2.0 develops a broad and well-structured plant architecture. Silent Seeds recommends targeted thinning or pruning of individual shoots during vigorous development, as well as supporting the lateral branches if necessary. This also distinguishes Lemon Tree 2.0 structurally from the more compact Lemon Tree Fast and makes it particularly interesting for growers looking for the character of the Original Lemon Tree in a modern evolution.

The connection to the original is particularly evident in the aroma. Intense lemon notes meet fresh lime, sweet lemon-candy nuances and complex floral accents. This creates a distinctly citrus-focused profile that, alongside the dominant lemon, offers additional fruity, sweet and floral facets. Lemon Tree 2.0 thus continues the characteristic style of the Original Lemon Tree while expanding it with a multifaceted modern aromatic profile.

Silent Seeds: carrying on Dinafem with a new name

Silent Seeds is based in Rotterdam in Holland. The people behind it are the same ones who were part of Dinafem for years. They know what they are doing since they have been around since 2005. The team came back in 2021 under the name Silent Seeds. It feels like a continuation, not a restart. They focus on both feminized and autoflowering seeds. Some of the work is done together with Sherbinski, which is why you see a few new strains that feel closer to the American style.
