Thornberry Thicket by Common Wealth Seed Co is a US cross with a particularly strong Wild Thornberry influence, created from the strains Thornberry Pie and Wild Thornberry. Thornberry Pie itself was created from Wedding Pie × Wild Thornberry, meaning that Wild Thornberry is represented on both sides of the family tree. Common Wealth Seed Co therefore describes Thornberry Thicket as a cross that genetically comes very close to an S1, without actually being a classic selfed line.

When grown, Thornberry Thicket is characterised by very vigorous development and considerable size and yield potential. The genetics were developed with uniform plants and high yields in mind and, according to the breeder, can grow exceptionally large. At the same time, the development period remains manageable for such a vigorous line: Common Wealth Seed Co specifies a flowering time of approximately 60 to 65 days. The actual expression of growth and yield can vary depending on phenotype and growing conditions.

The suitability of the parent lines for processing also played an important role in its development. Thornberry Pie combines Wedding Pie with Wild Thornberry, with the Wedding Pie selection used by Common Wealth Seed Co having been chosen for breeding due to its consistently high washing results. Wild Thornberry is also regarded as an excellent washer. Thornberry Thicket brings these characteristics together in a strongly Thornberry-dominant line.

Aromatically, Thornberry Thicket clearly represents the darker, fruitier side of the family. Powerful grape notes combine with sweet berries, ripe strawberry, additional fruit accents and a gassy background. Wild Thornberry – a cross of Strawnana × Animal Face Kush Mints – has a particularly strong influence on the profile and contributes its typical strawberry-gas combination. Thornberry Thicket thus combines Wedding Pie influences with Wild Thornberry genetics anchored on both sides of the lineage, creating an intense US line with grape, berries, strawberry and gas.

The cross of Secret Lemon × Tallymon was selected through a pheno hunt and became the foundation for numerous Common Wealth Seed Co crosses. For further lines, selected genetics such as Cheese, Grape Gas, Honey Banana, Rainbow Belts 2.0, Sour Irene OG, Strawberry Guava and Zkittlez were combined with Grape Sunshine. This resulted in a catalogue in which the selection of parent plants and their individual traits is clearly at the heart of the breeding work.
