When grown, Thornberry Pie develops a vigorous plant structure with slightly more stretch than some other genetics in the Thornberry line. Accordingly, sufficient space for vertical development should be taken into account, particularly indoors. According to the breeder, one characteristic feature is the presence of phenotypes with distinctly pronounced grape notes, combining the genetic influences of Wedding Pie and Wild Thornberry in their own distinctive way.

A particular focus of this cross is its suitability for processing, for example for the production of hashish. According to Common Wealth Seed Co, Wedding Pie regularly achieves wash yields of more than 6%, while Wild Thornberry was also selected for its pronounced washing characteristics. By combining both parents, Thornberry Pie was specifically created as a genetic that brings these characteristics together within a new hybrid line.
