Manufacturer: Common Wealth
Briar Patch by Common Wealth Seed Co is an intensely fruity US cross of the cannabis strains Strawguava and Wild Thornberry. During its development, the focus was particularly on a pronounced strawberry profile: the selected Strawguava is known for its especially intense strawberry terpenes and was combined with Wild Thornberry, which is likewise strawberry-dominant but also brings a gassy side. This brings together two genetic lines in which ripe strawberry aromas play a central role.
According to Common Wealth Seed Co, Briar Patch develops a rather compact and short plant structure with dense flower formation along the branches. This clearly distinguishes the strain from more strongly stretching genetics within the Thornberry line. Briar Patch has a specified flowering time of approximately 60 to 65 days. How compact individual plants actually grow and how strongly the flower structure develops can vary depending on phenotype and growing conditions.
Genetically, Briar Patch also revolves heavily around strawberry and tropical fruit aromas. Strawguava is a cross of Strawnana × Papaya and contributes additional exotic fruit nuances alongside its dominant strawberry side. The pollen donor Wild Thornberry comes from Strawnana × Animal Face Kush Mints and complements the profile with ripe strawberry and a pronounced gassy component. According to the breeder, both parent lines are also valued for their good washing characteristics.
The aromatic profile of Briar Patch is accordingly clearly focused on strawberry. Sweet, ripe strawberries combine with a candy character reminiscent of strawberry sweets, tropical fruit nuances and a slightly gassy background. The double Strawnana presence in the lineage further emphasises the consistently fruit-focused direction of this cross. Briar Patch thus combines Strawguava and Wild Thornberry into a modern US genetic with intense strawberry, candy sweetness, tropical fruits and gas.

Common Wealth Seed Co, also frequently searched for as Commonwealth Seeds, is a cannabis breeding project from Oregon with close ties to Archive Seed Co. Its focus is on modern genetics specifically selected for pronounced resin production, interesting terpene profiles and their suitability for producing high-quality solventless hash. Rather than aiming for the broadest possible catalogue, Common Wealth concentrates on selected parent plants and proven cuts from which entire genetic lines are developed.
Quick facts Origin: Oregon, USA Connection: Archive Seed Co / Archive Oregon Focus: Resin production, terpene profiles and hash washing Key lines: Grape Sunshine and Wild Thornberry Seed type: predominantly feminized photoperiod seeds
One of the project's key genetics is Grape Sunshine, originally known as Secret Lemon Tallymon. The cross of Secret Lemon × Tallymon was selected through a pheno hunt and became the foundation for numerous Common Wealth Seed Co crosses. For further lines, selected genetics such as Cheese, Grape Gas, Honey Banana, Rainbow Belts 2.0, Sour Irene OG, Strawberry Guava and Zkittlez were combined with Grape Sunshine. This resulted in a catalogue in which the selection of parent plants and their individual traits is clearly at the heart of the breeding work.
